HELLO EVERYONE! It’s Anna and THANK GOD IT’S FRIDAY. It’s Wednesday for me though, but I am very very busy this weekend and I wantet to have everything done before I got out of time. I SWEAR THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN TO ME 💪 💪
Good, I’m here today with another THANK GOD it’s Friday and I READ blah blah blah IN ENGLISH post, but today’s gonna be a little bit different. Since I just finished this book and I haven’t reviewed it yet, I thought to do both things at the same time, because I would talk about this book either way and It’s easier for me to do them both today. So, yaaaay 😁 😁
WELCOME AGAIN TO THANK GOD it’s Friday and I READ THE REST OF US JUST LIVE HERE IN ENGLISH (slash) REVIEW
🍋 🍌 🍍 🍎.5 / 5
I don’t really know where to begin, because I loved this book with all my heart and soul and with every part of my body because it’s amazing. And, btw, I couldn’t have read this one in spanish mainly because it does not exist. So, you know. 😂
This will be a short review since I don’t want to spoil anyone, but If you feel this anxiety due to not to be able to talk to anybody about this book (because none of your frieds has read it), feel free to write me an email or something, because NOBODY THAT I KNOW HAS READ IT AND I’LL DIE. So, please, don’t doubt.
I’m sorry. 😳 😳 😳 😳
Well, this book follows the story of this group of friends in this little town where the indie kids live as well. They are the ones that have to deal with the vampires and stuff, the adventures corresponding to the ordinary protagonists in every single book. But in this one, the protagonists are the other guys at school who watch every supernatural thing that happens from the outside. They are the indie kids‘ school mates.
The main main character is Mikey. All of them are about to graduate from highschool and, suddenly, the indie things that happen to indie kids start to affect them, but they already have their own real problems to deal with, because they are just kids with mundane issues.
Mikey has anxiety and an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder that consists of loops he can’t stop, her sister Mel deals with and eating disorder that almost killed her… And I think this issues are really well built and they are not just there for sell the book. You know what I mean? I think they provide the characters with depth and that’s cool to read.
The sroty-line it’s not like the greatest thing in the world, because it doesn’t really happen anything since the supernatural things are happening to the indie kids. The author actually gives us a little piece of the indie kids’ adventures at the beginning of every single chapter, for us to follow it, but the main character’s story doesn’t really have a development and an end. It is great because it has, as I said, real problems, real situations, but it doesn’t have a proper end.
On the other hand, there are many other situations that have to be solved like insecurity and friendship, and love, and that feeling you may think is love but it’s just stomach ache… That’s what our story is really about. It’s a view more that a story itself. AND THAT’S WHY I LOVED IT SO SO MUCH.
I bet you have never read a book like this, so I really recommend you to pick up this one. Patrick write’s like heaven, super fun and super real.
I think I already spoke too much.😂 😂
